We are pleased to welcome Spencer Overton back on to our speaker roster! Professor Overton is the author of Stealing Democracy: The New Politics of Voter Suppression, a book describing the way that politicians manipulate election laws to their advantage while diluting the value of the average American's vote. He is a law professor at The George Washington University Law School and a leading election law scholar. Overton served as Chairperson of Barack Obama's Government Reform Committee, a group of more than 30 experts who advise the Obama presidential campaign on campaign finance reform, lobbying, voting rights and government ethics and transparency policies. Overton is a frequent media commentator and has appeared on various shows and networks.

We are so excited to announce that Rinku Sen has been added to our speaking roster! Rinku Sen is the President and Executive Director of the Applied Research Center (ARC) and Publisher of Colorlines magazine. She weaves together journalism with her extensive experience in community organizing to further social change. Sen has written extensively about immigration, community organizing and women's lives for a wide variety of publications. Her latest book, "The Accidental American: Immigration and Citizenship in the Age of Globalization" won the Nautilus Book Award Silver Medal.

We are pleased to announce that Chicks on Speed will be doing a limited lecture/workshop tour of the US in the late Fall. Chicks on Speed (COS) are an ever-changing multidisciplinary art group who apply a punk-inspired DIY ethic to explore the boundaries of art, craft, fashion, and music. Their second book, “Chicks on Speed: Don’t Art, Fashion, Music will be published by Abrahms at the end of September. The highly innovative and original book documents the dynamic art group’s recent "Objeckt Instruments" project and 2010 exhibition at Dundee Contemporary Arts. This latest endeavor is the result of collaborations between international artists, scientists, and designers, including Turner Prize-winner Douglas Gordon.
