The Capitol Steps, the only group in America that attempts to be funnier than the Congress, is a troupe of current and former Congressional staffers who monitor events and personalities on Capitol Hill, in the Oval Office, and in other centers of power and prestige around the world and then take a humorous look at serious issues while providing a nationwide laugh for millions...
Since 1984, the group has recorded twenty-seven albums: "Springtime for Liberals," "Papa's Got a Brand New Baghdad," "Between Iraq and a Hard Place," "When Bush Comes to Shove," "Unzippin' My Doodah," "Sixteen Scandals," "76 Bad Loans," "Sheik, Rattle and Roll," and more. The Capitol Steps perform shows all over the country, covering territory from Traverse City, Michigan to Tallahassee, Pasadena to Pensacola.
The Steps have been featured on several major network television programs and dozens of times on National Public Radio's "All Things Considered." They currently produce quarterly specials for public radio stations nationwide, and they've been regularly featured on CNN's "Inside Politics."
Thanks to the trials and tribulations, scandals and screwups of our elected officials, there's never a shortage of material.
