Weekly Round Up: The Hot Author’s Edition

Happy Wednesday! This week, let’s look at a few of our speakers with books on the best-seller’s lists!

Neil deGrasse Tyson’s book Astrophysics for People in a Hurry is a few weeks short of a full YEAR on the New York Times best-seller’s list! This book may prove to be the “Dark Side of the Moon” of book publishing (gratuitous Pink Floyd reference).

Charles C. Mann’s newest book The Wizard and the Prophet has been getting rave reviews: the Washington Post wrote “Mann is a compelling and forensic analyst of big tipping points in human affairs.”, and Science Magazine declared “Fascinating . . . An inquisitive and gifted science writer.”

In the wake of the Trump presidency, Kate Harding has co-edited a fascinating collection of essays on how this sea change in American politics threatens many of the gains women have made in recent years. Nasty Women: Feminism, Resistance, and Revolution in Trump’s America prompted the Chicago Tribune to declare “Just read the whole book. It’s only getting more relevant by the hour”

And those are the stories for this week! Be sure to follow us on Facebook and Twitter to keep up with the latest from all of our speakers, scientists and change makers!
